AI Glossary and Word-Search

As we approach the end of another busy week, its time to relax and have a bit of fun. Today’s post will explain some of the terms you need to understand when performing an AI Transformation. After you’ve had a read of the terms, we’ve got a fun word-search to complete. Simply click and drag your mouse across the letters to find words. When you find a word it will turn green and be crossed off the list. For those of you interested in how the word-search was made, there’s a little bonus content below the game.

  1. Algorithm: A step-by-step procedure or formula for solving a problem or carrying out a specific task. Algorithms are typically used in computer programming and mathematics to perform calculations, data processing, automated reasoning, and other tasks.
  2. Automation: The technology by which a process or procedure is performed with minimal human assistance. Automation typically uses control systems and information technologies to increase efficiency and reliability in the production of goods and services.
  3. Bot: A software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the internet. Bots can perform tasks at a much higher rate than a human would be able to. They are used in a variety of applications, such as web indexing, chat services, or as virtual assistants.
  4. Chatbot: A type of bot that is programmed to simulate human conversation through text or voice interactions. Chatbots are often used in customer service, information acquisition, and interactive experiences online.
  5. Data: Information that is collected, stored, and often used for analysis. Data can be in various forms, such as numbers, text, images, or videos. It is essential for research, analysis, decision making, and artificial intelligence applications.
  6. Deep Learning: A subset of machine learning in artificial intelligence (AI) that has networks capable of learning unsupervised from data that is unstructured or unlabeled. Deep learning is known for its ability to process large amounts of complex data using neural network architectures.
  7. Intelligence: The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. In the context of AI, it refers to the ability of machines to mimic cognitive functions such as learning and problem-solving.
  8. Learning: The acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or being taught. In computing, it often refers to the process by which machines, especially computers, improve their performance or make predictions based on data.
  9. Machine: Any mechanical or electrical device that transmits or modifies energy to perform or assist in the performance of tasks. In computer science, a machine often refers to a computer or a device that operates under control of software.
  10. Neural: Pertaining to neurons or a neural network. In computing, it refers to a network or circuit of neurons, or in a more modern sense, an artificial neural network where elements are designed to mimic the behavior of biological neurons.
  11. Network: A group of interconnected computers, servers, mainframes, network devices, peripherals, or other devices to share data and resources. In AI and machine learning, networks refer to complex data structures that model relationships and processes.
  12. Robotics: The branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots. Robotics involves computer systems for control, sensory feedback, and information processing.
  13. System: A set of interacting or interdependent components forming an integrated whole, especially in technology where it refers to a group of devices or artificial entities with interacting parts, functioning as a whole. In computing, a system may refer to a software system, computer system, or a system of algorithms and processes.

How did I make the word-search?

Using AI of course! I simply asked ChatGPT to make me a wordsearch. You can find my full chat with the GPT here. The full source code can be found on our github site here.
